Environment Agency Regional Flood and Coastal Committee Chair Recruitment

The Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs is looking to appoint Chairs to the Environment Agency’s Anglian (Central), Anglian (Eastern), Severn and Wye and Southern Regional Flood and Coastal Committees (RFCCs). These roles are central to the delivery of Flood and Coastal Risk Management both within the Committees they chair but also nationally.

RFCCs bring together representatives of local councils and the Environment Agency to oversee a multi-million pound programme of work to protect homes and businesses. As Chair, you will lead the way in setting regional strategic priorities for managing flood and coastal erosion risk in partnership with others. Skilled in bringing together different voices and opinions, you will play a pivotal role in approving capital and revenue investment programmes, raising local levies, securing external contributions and ensuring effective community engagement. Experience in a public facing role, with public accountability will be important.

Further information on the roles can be found here:

The closing date for applications is the 6 November.
