Darton Drop In Event

Barnsley Council hosted a drop-in session for Darton residents who are at risk of being affected by flooding. The Darton Flood Plan launch event took place on Wednesday 15 February at The Darton Centre, and residents were invited to come along to discuss local flood risk concerns.

The Flood Advisory Service were on hand, along with advisors from the Environment Agency and Yorkshire Water and local councillors to discuss flooding issues. Officers from the council were available to provide further details, advice and guidance on flooding that affects local homes.

Sarah Marriott, Managing Director of the Flood Advisory Service said: “The Flood Advisory Service is delighted to be supporting Barnsley Council in raising awareness of flood risk for the residents of Darton and the surrounding communities. Almost a decade on from the catastrophic floods of 2007, working in conjunction with the council, the EA and Yorkshire Water, the drop in session will represent an opportunity to discuss local flood risk management with a wide range of stakeholders.”
