Flood Advisory Service in Rawtenstall

The Flood Advisory Service visited Rawtenstall last week, Friday 6th May. Invited by Rossendale Borough Council, the FAS trailer stopped in Rawtenstall Town Square welcoming local residents on board for free, independent flood mitigation advice.

Rossendale Borough Council worked closely with The Flood Advisory Service to ensure homeowners and businesses could easily access the advice and information they needed, particularly about council flood resilience grants, following the devastating storms that hit Lancashire over the winter, when hundreds of properties were flooded.

Along with representatives from the council, we were joined by Rawtenstall Flood Forum and local Flood Professionals; GLR Construction and Calderdale Flood & Damp Proofing.

“We have organised this roadshow event with the Flood Advisory Service for our residents to find out about funding opportunities they may be eligible for. We are specifically encouraging those home owners and communities, recently flooded by Storm Eva, to apply to the council for a grant of up to £5,000 per property to install measures designed to increase future flood resilience."
