Flood Advisory Service on hand with clean up support

Donation arrives to Lancashire County Council

Following this week’s devastating floods in the North West of the England, the Flood Advisory Service, a not for profit organisation offering free information on all aspects of flooding,  has been in touch with local authorities in the area offering free sachets of specialist sanitiser to help homeowners with the clean-up operation.

Lancashire County Council gratefully accepted the offer of 400 sanitiser sachets that will be delivered in person to council offices on Friday by the Flood Advisory Service’s main sponsor UK Flood Barriers.

Flood Advisory Service Managing Director Sarah Marriott commented:

“Our hearts clearly go out to everyone who has been affected in the North West but we appreciate the offer of practical support is what’s needed most now.  We hope the donation of sanitiser will go some way to helping with the clean-up operation”

Sarah continues:

“Our main sponsor, UK Flood Barriers, has kindly agreed to deliver the donation on our behalf.  Ideally I would’ve visited in person but this week I’m manning the FAS Roadshow trailer in Marlow, offering free advice on flood risk, Kitemark certified products & installation to homeowners & communities who were so badly affected by flooding over Christmas 2013”.

The Flood Advisory Service is currently in discussion with local authorities across the country to arrange an appropriate time in the New Year for the Roadshow to visit to offer free flood advice and information to homeowners.
